Editorial Review:

Product Description:
'Best New Music' 9/10 on Pitchfork Grizzly Bear's five-year trip since Horn of Plenty has been a gradual journey from darkness towards light. Starting out in a dimly-lit room crammed with cheap recording gear, they've stretched just a bit more with each release, intent on seeing how many ways their sound can be bent and shaped without losing sight of their vision (lord knows they love a remix). As far as crafting accessible and ambitious folk-pop, then, 'Two Weeks', a single taken from their forthcoming album Veckatimest, is their first true moment in the blazing sun. It's not afraid to be pretty; unapologetically retro and baroque, 'Two Weeks' sort of crawls by like a gloriously ornate float in an Easter parade. A forward piano plink marks out the chords while the arrangement feels loose and unhurried, packed with details but with every sound seeming to tumble and land in its right place. Ed Droste completely inhabits the song with his honeyed croon, singing about distance, longing, patience; his clipped phrases are fragmented and vague, probably designed to serve a sound with only so much room. The insistent 'Whoa-oh-oh' harmonies ultimately carry the bulk of the song's meaning, and what they seem to be saying is: make yourself comfortable and play me again. It's not the deepest song Grizzly Bear have written, but it may well be the most successful, accomplishing everything it sets out to do. Track List 1. Two Weeks (Fred Falke Radio Mix) 2. Two Weeks (Fred Falke Extended Mix) 3. Two Weeks (Fred Falke Instrumental)
