Editorial Review:
Album Description: The Norwegian Gods of Extreme Metal are back with their 2008 two DVD set and CD! After the unbelievably successful album, In Sorte Diaboli , Dimmu Borgir presents a spectacular DVD of the Invaluable Darkness tour with many specials like the whole gig in Wacken 2007, video footage, behind the scenes stuff, a video gallery, the conferment of their Gold Award and many more stuff. This DVD shows a unbelievable show of the undisputed Kings of Black Metal. It's a absolutely must have for all Dimmu Borgir maniacs all over the world!!!

I'm a punk rocker who took a weird Oedipal journey into the bowels of death metal looking for something that would resonate with my visions of the Next Rock Revolution. Of course, when you delve into the bowels of anything, more likely than not you wind up with $*** in your hands, but in this case, I discovered the highly entertaining and melodic style of Dimmu Borgir, Kings of the Cookie Monsters!
Not to insult the prodigious Norwegian death metal monsters, but their over-the-top Satanism, strongly contradicted by the crowds of teenyboppers hopping and bopping on their live DVD's, make you realize that they're about as Antichrist as KISS, who were self-admittedly all about making money. This doesn't question the Borgirs' authenticity, it's just being skeptical of their abject devil worship (as in opening lines like "Satan! My Master!"). Yeah, right.
These kids definitely have something going that may one day take them the way of Chemical Romance. They lean heavily ... Read More

Incredible double dvd from the masters of norwegian symphonic black metal. Featuring 2 complete concerts and a bucketload of extras this is one of the most generous and satisfactory releases I've had the pleasure of viewing.
I used to be into brutal black metal only and someone gave me this to open my mind and boy they did it !! Main feature on disc 1 is 17 tracks culled from a set in Oslo and songs from The Forum in london and some other gigs totalling some 80 mind-blowing minutes. The performance is intense, the stage is dimly lit for effect and the bass player puts out a hell of a show; pity his impressive 5-string Warlock can barely be heard, if at all. He also adds some clean vocals here and there but the lip-sync is dubious, as if they came from a DAT tape or had been heavily pro-tool post-produced . Never mind, since the end result, if a little light in the bottom-end department, is near-perfect. The production of these dvds is only comparable to the bands' stunning stage ... Read More

If you enjoy black metal or dimmu borgir i think you would enjoy this dvd set. comes with 2 dvd and 1 live cd. (mine did)
I own their last dvd set and i also enjoyed that set. i think this rates right up there with their last dvd. but... if i had to be picky:
well right of the back... u have to mention the problem with disc2 audio.. um its not there :p and yes i tried the little trick and what that does on my pioneer dvd player is.. when i select the audio and hit stop when i bring it back im still at the menu or it will still have no audio.. so im still workin on that one.. idk :p
also.. i noticed you can hear the bass and drums EXCELLENT. sounds great. but at times u have a lil time hearing the guitar playing. i mean its not crappy or anything. but im just being critical. also u get to hear vortex's singing much better on this one and he does a great job on backup vocals.
all together . its a great dvd set. of course the new album but with some old goodies , which i ... Read More

I thought this price a bit steep for a DVD, but got the three disc/wonderful artwork package and wasn't dissapointed. The live performances are kind of dark - I wish that there had been more light to see the members of the band, but then again I am female so this may be my own personal/female opinion. But anyway, no regrets in getting this. Dimmu is always excellent, and this continues to prove it.
