Editorial Review:

Product Description:
You'll need to know more than just your ABCs in this alphabetically zany game! In fact, you'll need to be pretty quick with the entire alphabet, including those pesky XYZs! Players roll a die, and then have 30 seconds to list as many different answers for a specific category as possible. Each answer must begin with a different letter of the alphabet. Mark off letters on your tracking board for each right answer. But watch out, as other players can sometimes remove your marks by answering their own categories! First one to fill their board wins!
Games magazine named A to Z the Best Word Game of 1997. Now, A to Z Jr. enables younger players to join in the fun. The object of both versions is the same: to cover all letters on your letter board by calling out words in specific categories before the timer runs out. Each player or team takes a letter tray and a supply of plastic disks. A player or team rolls the dice and selects the corresponding category from more than 300 on 56 cards, among them topics such as Dogs' Names or Fairy Tales. Players then cover as many letters on their boards as they can in 30 seconds by coming up with appropriate answers to the category. For example, cover the F or R spaces by saying "Fido" or "Rapunzel" in the above categories. One roll of the dice even allows you to take disks off of an opponent's board instead of adding to your own. If you're the first to cover all the letter spaces on your board, you're the big winner. A to Z Jr. does a great job of streamlining the original version for younger players, but those X/Y and Z spaces are still killers. --Tony Mason
