background / biography
Dieselkopf was initially a bit of a joke, since I (RaZZ) played in a band called Twang, and I was just so fed up with being turned down by the local press. Whatever we did, it was just never good enough. So, just for fun, I made a piece of computer music and sent it to the local media. Suddenly it was regarded as the best demo of the year, by music critic Sebastian Kloss. In my attached letter I wrote that this demo was from a local band that had just started. I tried to make up the absolutely most silly, German name I could think of – Dieselkopf. Sebastian Kloss thought it was dead cool… You just can't win, can you… This all happened in 1993, and a few years passed by with work and more recordings with Twang. After the break up with Twang, I felt like starting over with something new and different. My friend Ola Lindström went for the idea and he contacted Peter Carlfors who became the bands singer. So the official start of Dieselkopf as a “real” band was 1996. Dieselkopf's first cd was released in 1998, and it was recieved with both poison and cream fudge… Dieselkopf had a break for about 8 years. During that time children was born, I moved five times and music wasnt there. Now we are back on track and planning to do new album, next year or so. Music is fun now! I love it a lot. Hopefully you like it to :)
