people say metal musio is dying nick jonas recently said bob dylan can not sing people tell me slipknot is a band that worships satan people say megadeth are old farts who have nothing else better to do during 1997 i discovered metal music and metal bands but i did not get into the metal scene till the year 2000 and the first metal band i ever gave a chance was kiss they were a stepping stone for me to get into other metal bands as well as classic rock bands this devildriver album reminds me of this album by led zeppelin Led Zeppelin 1 i love all types of music but to make this review short this band is amazing in concert and they really know how to put on a great show

I got this CD way back in `03 after hearing "Swinging the Dead" off the Freddy vs. Jason soundtrack. I was a Coal Chamber fan, but Dez Farfara was, and still is, one of my favorite vocalists, so I thought I would check it out. The band probably knew they were going to get flack from their lead singer's nu-metal past, so this album comes across as a blatant brutal war cry to all the doubters. Since I was primarily a fan of nu-metal at the time (It was the late 90's early 2000's and I was a young impressionable kid, sue me) this album was the hardest metal album I owned, and along with DD's The Fury of Our Maker's Hand, served as the beginning of me getting into much harder metal.

Some of the lyrics seem a little clunky in comparison to their later works, but each ... Read More

Throw on PFV and right away you get some mad energy. the title track (PFV) is killer... the first time through the 10th time I listened to tracks 3 through 8 I thought they they sucked but as i'm writing this their growing on me...tracks 8 through 13 are worthy but not mountain worthy.. you know what I mean. put the cans on and be glad theres no gay melodic bridge...

love devil driver! this cd realy comes on strong! some very kool songs. "could care less" - although inproper grammer- is my favorite by far. great instrumentals. hard driving drums! great guitar riffs! strong vocals! the only dissapointment is that the cd losses it's drive and becomes a little mediocre after 2/3 through the cd. still highly recommend!!

The riffs are chunky solid pieces of bone crushing fury. The drummer is like an eight arm octopus on crack. The vocals are like a growl and a scream crossed together. Very brutal. Lyrically it is deep and dark. The lyrics speak to me. -Dre
